All Passengersย arriving into India on International Flightsย toย connect to a Domestic sector with a domestic Airlineย need to check their baggage only to theย International gateway.

They are required toย clear Immigration and Customs at their FIRST PORT OF ENTRYย beforeย proceeding with their Luggage to Domestic Terminal for their onward Domestic Flight.

They can also make use of any such arrangements provided by any Domestic Airline forย transferring their baggage to Domestic Terminal for their Domestic Flight.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma launches pre-loaded Sim Card for Tourists arriving in India on E-visa

Dr. Mahesh Sharma,Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture, launched the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for providing pre-loaded Sim Card to foreign tourists arriving in India on e-Visa here today. Addressing on the occasion, he said that this unique initiative will facilitate the foreign tourists in communicating with their acquaintances immediately after their arrival in India. Earlier, the Ministry of Tourism had also launched a 24 x 7 Tourist Helplineย 1800111363ย in Twelve languages so that the foreign tourists can get the required information in their own language. The Minister presented the First Kit containing Sim to a representative of Travel and Tourism sector. Shri Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Shri J.S. Deepak, Secretary, Ministry of Communications and senior officers were present on the occasion.

This initiative has been launched in association with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., (BSNL), wherein BSNL would distribute pre-loaded SIM Cards to foreign tourists arriving in India on e-Visa.ย  This facility will be initially available in the Indira Gandhi International Airport (T3 Terminal), New Delhi and later cover remaining 15 international airports, where e-Visa facility is currently available.

To avail pre-loaded Sim Card, BSNL will collect e-Visa copy and the first page of passport from foreign tourists on arrival at the airport. This facility is only available for tourists arriving in India on e-Visa.ย  Sim cards will be pre-loaded with a value of Rs. 50 talk time and 50 MB data and will be activated on immediate basis so as to enable them use this facility instantly. This initiative is also aimed at providing connectivity to foreign touriststo enable them to stay in touch with their near and dear ones and also help them to contact with the 24ร—7 Multi lingual toll free helpline of Ministry of Tourism (1800-11-1363) for any assistance and guidance during times of distress / medical emergency, etc.

Documents Required

The documents required for e-Tourist Visa (eTV) are :

  • Scanned First Page of Passport.
    • Format -PDF
    • Size : Minimum 10 KB, Maximum 300 KB.

The digital photograph to be uploaded along with the Visa application should meet the following requirements:

  • Format โ€“ JPEG
  • Size
    • Minimum 10 KB
    • Maximum 1 MB
  • The height and width of the Photo must be equal.
  • Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open.
  • Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
  • Background should be plain light colored or white background.
  • No shadows on the face or on the background.
  • Without borders.

Important Notice regarding e-Tourist Visa (eTV)

To avail e-Tourist Visa facility, started with effect from November 27, 2014 for Mauritian nationals, please log on to (http://indianvisaonline.gov.in) and click on the Tab/Headingโ€œe-Tourist Visa (eTV)โ€. Itโ€™s a three-step process involving (i) Application online,(ii) Receive e-Tourist Visa (eTV) at your email ID and (iii) Fly to India with Passport and printout of e-Tourist Visa (eTV).

Note :For availing Visa on arrival facility for visiting India, obtaining e-Tourist Visa (eTV) through above procedure is mandatory.Without eTV, the Airline would not allow boarding.

For obtaining the usualย gratisย Visa of all types including tourist Visa onย free of chargeย basis from the High Commission of India (HCI) at Port Louis, please log on to (http://indianvisaonline.gov.in) and click on the Tab/Headingย โ€œRegular Visa Applicationโ€ย and follow the step by step user-friendly procedure. After completion of the form online, please take a print out and submit the signed form at the HCI, Port Louis along with other requisite documents and two passport size photos.

Steps for Regular Visa Application:

  1. i) Log on to the website-(http://indianvisaonline.gov.in) and click on the Tab/Headingโ€œRegular Visa Applicationโ€
    ii) Select โ€œCountry you are applying visa fromโ€ asMauritius
    iii) Select Mission as Mauritius-Port Louis
    iv) Fill all the mandatory items marked by red star (*), save the form, obtain a print out of the same, and sign it.
    v) Applicants are then requested to produce the print-out of the application along with their passport, two passport size photographs, and other required supporting documents (see below) at the visa counter of the High Commission. Timings for submission and collection of Visa can be seen under โ€˜Consular Working Hoursโ€™

REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA TO TRAVEL TO INDIA

Tourist Visa

  • Passportย (with minimum 6 months validity)
  • Filled inย Application formย (in block capital letters)
  • Two recent photographsย (one affixed on the application and other to be attached) (see โ€˜Guidelines for Photographsโ€˜)
  • Confirmed air booking for onward and return journey
  • Travellers cheques
    (or)
    Receipt of exchange of money in the name of applicant at the rate ofย US $ 50 (fifty)ย per day per person for stay inย India.
    (or)
    Aย notarised letter of sponsorship from a person residing inย India, guaranteeing all expenses of the applicant (s) inย India.
    (or)
    Letter from the bank indicating the financial means of the applicant to meet the expenses inย Indiaย or a recent Bank Statement.
    (or)
    Photocopy of credit card accompanying a letter from the bank indicating the credit limit.
  • Proof of place of stay in India eg. confirmed hotel booking with datesย orย letter from relative / friend in India indicating full name, address and telephone numbers of the friend / relative with whom applicant intends to stay along with Id proof of the relative/friend in India.

Business Visa

  • Passportย (with minimum 6 months validity)
  • Filled inย Application formย (in block capital letters)
  • Two recent photographsย (one affixed on the application and other to be attached) (see โ€˜Guidelines for Photographsโ€™)
  • Confirmed air booking for onward and return journey
  • Letter from the company in Mauritius, indicating the exact nature of business to be transacted and the details of the person deputed for the purpose.
  • Letter from the company in India, indicating the details of the person, visiting India, and the nature of the business.

Student Visa

  • Passportย (with minimum 6 months validity)
  • Filled inย Application formย (in block capital letters)
  • Two recent photographsย (one affixed on the application and other to be attached) (see โ€˜Guidelines for Photographsโ€™)
  • Confirmed air booking for onward and return journey
  • Provisional proof of admission / eligibility certificate from the concerned educational institution recognised / approved by theGovernment of India
  • Letter from bank certifying to the financial means of parent / guardian to meet the expenses inย India or a recent Bank Statement

Student Visa Extension

  • Passportย (with minimum 6 months validity)
  • Filled inย Application formย (in block capital letters)
  • Two recent photographsย (one affixed on the application and other to be attached) (see โ€˜Guidelines for Photographsโ€™)
  • Confirmed air booking for onward and return journey
  • Copy of identity card issued by the educational institution
  • Bonafide certificate indicating duration of the course being pursued by the student
  • Residence Permit photocopy

Employment Visa (Approval Subject to Admissibility)

  • Copy of employment contract received from theย Indian employer.

Medical Visa
